My special tree seat where I can read or be inspired by nature

My special tree seat where I can read or be inspired by nature

Today I made a special seat. I have a tree in my garden which is my favourite. It’s a magnolia tree. I climb up it most days and sit in the branches.

I took the measurements myself to make the seat and then Daddy got the right wood and rope and helped me put it up.

I went up there this afternoon to read some books. I really like that tree, she is my favourite and my children might like to sit in it one day when I’m older.

I’m looking forward to sitting on my special seat during the summer when the tree is covered in leaves because I think I shall be completely hidden and I’ll be able to hear the wind in the leaves. When I hear that and close my eyes I can pretend I am by the sea.

How many men does it take…….

Daddy and his friend braiding my hair

Daddy and his friend braiding my hair - I had to keep very still, which I'm not very good at!

……to braid a seven year old girl’s hair?

Today Daddy’s best friend came to visit. He bought me two very special presents. The first was a hair braider with all sorts of lovely coloured beads to put in my braids.

The other present was a gorgeous set of 50 crayons. I was so pleased with them and even Mummy was a bit envious. There is every colour in the rainbow in the set and I’m going to have so much fun using them to do my drawings and cards.

Today I went out with Grandma for the day and for my swimming lesson. I made a card for my teacher because it was the last time I shall see him. He is leaving the Leisure Centre to be a Policeman. Mummy saw the card this morning and it made her cry! She thought I would draw a picture of me and my teacher swimming in the water. Instead I drew a picture of me sitting under a tree with a sad face. I drew this because I’m going to miss him and Mummy thought I was very special and loving to be missing somebody and draw them such a lovely picture.

I shall miss him, but Mummy tells me that I can remember him for the rest of my life as the person who taught me to swim. I felt better hearing that.

Exciting news!

My pretty gap

My pretty gap

Dear Readers,

I have been very frustrated these last few days because my front tooth has been wobbly. Last night it came out and I was really excited. I came downstairs smiling; showing off my big gap!

I was very excited because I thought the faeries couldn’t wait to come and collect my tooth. I went to sleep early so that it wouldn’t seem as long until they visited. In the morning at 8am, I threw the covers off and got up straight away to see what the tooth fairy had bought.

She gave me a note saying my tooth would be made into a fairy rattle, a 50p piece and a packet of chewies which I gobbled up before breakfast.
