paddling in the sea!

paddling in the sea!

Last Friday, I went on holiday to Sidmouth. I went to stay with my friend A and Mummy and Daddy went to stay in a mobile home by the sea at Ladram Bay.

I had a great time and A’s friend, P, taught me some Spanish. A & P like to have tea together.

We went to the sea every day, which was close enough for us to walk to. I paddled in the sea and hunted for crabs and shrimps with my fishing net.

We had fish and chips and that afternoon we went to see a play at the theatre. It was about Modern Millie. She wanted to marry her boss, but she married the wrong boss.

Once we went to the sea early in the morning and we were lucky enough to run around the rocks and hunt in lots of rock pools before the tide came in.

I climbed up to the very top of the rocks and discovered an old bouncy ball which was very heavy, a few curls of thick rope and an old fishing net.

A. had a cat called Sooty and I fed him every day!

My favourite part of the holiday was feeding Sooty and having him sleep on my bed at night.

A cute puppy with no name!

Today I visited Poppy’s farm again and met a puppy with no name! He is just 4 weeks old and is a tan and white Jack Russell.

Most of the dogs there are Jack Russels and my favourite one is Ooffy. He is really cute and he can’t walk very far because he is still very young.

We went for a long walk in the forest and T took me to a cave where six people can get in. I asked if we could camp there one night and she said we probably could when the weather was warmer. I’m really excited and I hope Mummy says I can camp there for a night!

Sieving soil and planting seeds

Yesterday we began some more planting for this year. Mummy dug through the beds, getting all the weed roots out for the third time. And sometimes getting out an enormous clump of soil with about ten roots sticking out of it.

I put soil through a sieve to make it fine for planting our vegetables and herbs. It took me a long time because I did loads of it and I’m probably going to do some more today.

We planted some parsley and basil in pots and Mummy began her beetroot and I began my radishes. Mummy also planted courgettes and kale ready for planting out.
