Last night I went on a wildflower hunt with my local Wildlife Trust Junior Watch group.
We met at the Wilderness centre and there were just 6 of us this week. 2 girls and 4 boys.
We talked about wild flowers and were split into two groups to go on our hunt. I saw wild garlic, which you can pick and eat a bit of, bluebells, lady’s smock, dandelions, cow parsley and cowslips. My favourite were the bluebells.
After that we had something to eat and played a game.
When we went outside, I managed to catch a moth! I was very careful and gentle and held it in my hands for a while. The one side of its wings were bright orange and one of them was damaged. So I gave it some love and let it go.
Next time I go to a junior watch meeting, we’re going to learn to make shelters.
