I wrote something the other night about the environment. I had just started writing it when Mummy came to put me to bed. I told her I was writing something important and asked if I could stay up to write it, so she said yes.
In the morning I came down and read it to her and Daddy. They thought it was really good and should be published somewhere.
Mummy buys a magazine called Green Parent, which is all about taking care of babies and children naturally. I like reading it too and looking at some of the lovely photos. The editor of the magazine is called Melissa and she liked my writing. She said “This is incredibly insightful and wonderfully written” and wanted to publish it on her website and here it is. It’s called “Save our planet“.
I hope you enjoy reading it

My Beatrix potter Lapbook
I finished my Beatrix Potter lapbook last week and it looks really good!
Mummy put it all together, then we practised drawing rabbits for the front cover.
My favourite bits about the lapbook were learning about when Beatrix first became famous and the sorts of things she became the first woman to do.
I liked seeing how she was determined to have her first book published and how she was the first woman to become president of the Herdwick sheep breeders association.
I also loved doing my survey and making the bar graph of the results.
We watched “Miss Potter” too and it made me laugh when the publisher called “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” her bunny book. Beatrix was not very impressed and had a really funny look on her face!

Mummy had a go at drawing rabbits too!

My tiny catterpillars and butterfly house
For my Birthday Mummy and Daddy bought me a Butterfly Garden because I love butterflies so much. I’ve never seen a crysallis hatch and I’ve always wanted to and now I will!
I got a special house for them, a feeding pipette and I had to send off for my caterpillars. This week they arrived in a special cup full of their favourite food. I have to wait until they make a crysallis then put them in the butterfly house and wait for them to hatch.
After that I can give the butterflies flowers and sugared water for a couple of days before I release them into the garden.
They are painted lady butterflies and I’m looking forward to seeing them. The caterpillars were really tiny when they arrived, but they’ve already doubled in size, so I think they are healthy and happy. It takes about 7 - 14 days for them to make a chrysalis and then another 7-14 days for them to hatch. They already have something around them that looks like spiders web!
