One rainy day, Phoebe woke up and said to herself “yay! I’m five; it’s my Birthday”.

She was so excited that she got out of bed and quickly got on her clothes. After she had got dressed, she raced down the stairs. “You woke up early today.” said Daddy.

“I know, it’s my Birthday!”

“yes Phoebe” said Daddy, “You’ve got eight presents”.

One by one, Phoebe opened her presents. One was a packet of crayons, another was a rubber. One was a wooden bus, one was a toy boat with six animals in it. She had lots more .

After she had opened them, Mum woke up. “Gosh! what a lot of presents love,” she said to Phoebe. “You’re lucky!”

Just then they heard a woof woof and a dog called Boney got up. “Woof Woof” he said “woof woof!”

He was a dog with very ruffled ears. “He’s always barking isn’t he?” said Phoebe

“quite right” said Mum, sneezing.

At eleven o’clock the doorbell rang. In came Phoebe’s five friends. There was three girls and two boys. The girls were called Leah, Sophie and Neeper. “Hi there!” called Sophie, the oldest one. She was seven.

“happy Birthday” they all sang.

Soon it was time for Mummy to light the five candles. They all sang happy Birthday and then Phoebe blew the candles out.

“Time to go home!” said Mum and they all went home.

“Goodbye” said Phoebe, “See you next week”.

Then the boys, Neeper, Sophie and Leah got home and they hugged their Mummy.

“Welcome home!” said their Mummy.

“I love you alot” Neeper said
“That’s good darling!” said their Mummy.

At five o’clock they all had tea.

“Bed time boys and girls!” said Mummy. So all of them settled down in the bunk and went to sleep

When Reby’s friends came to her Birthday

One early morning, Reby woke up. She saw the sun peeping out from behind the trees.

Then Reby remembered that today was a very special day. It was her Birthday and she was going to be six. So she got on her new, shiny clothes - she kept them for special occasions.

When she had got dressed, she went downstairs. Mum and Dad were still asleep. She got downstairs and saw eleven presents. ‘Lots of presents’ she thought.

Mummy had said to Reby that if she was a good girl, she would take her to a great place called ‘THE GREAT PLAYING AREA’. So she brushed her hair and did two ears.

Then Mum woke up “Good morning”, said Mum.

“Hi Mum” said Reby, happily playing with her toy farm.

Her Daddy woke up “Hello,” said Reby

“It’s time for breakfast” said Mummy. “Then we are going to the restaurant.

“Ok,” said Reby.

After breakfast, they got in the car and drove off. Soon they arrived. And their mum and Dad paid and signed in.

Then it was lunchtime, so Reby looked at the menu. She wanted pizza. “ok.” said Mum.

Soon lunch was cooked and the lady bought it over. When they had finished, Reby had a play on the swings. Then it was time to go home.

It was a long journey home, so Reby had a rest and thought about playing in the sunshine. When they got in, Reby go into her pyjamas and went to sleep. She dreamed about playing in the house with her cat.

Emma Baldwin was an outdoor girl and this is the story of Emma going out.

Emma Baldwin woke up one hot morning. The first thing she’d do was to stroke her cat, who lay heavily on her bed by her feet.

She got up. At half past eight she had breakfast, then went on her swing.

Then called Puss, “Puss!” puss came and Emma took her to Puss’s roses. Then Emma went for a walk. She ran and ran until she could run no more.

Then she had a rest and ran home. She was tired when she went up the steps to her house. She had lunch, played and had tea.

She had a tiring day; at least it was nearly bed time. She climbed the stairs, went to bed and settled down to sleep.
