Last week it was time to chit our potatoes from the Potatoes for Schools. We grew them last year and had lots of yummy potatoes. You can see how many I managed to grow with last year’s potato harvest.
I saved two egg boxes for chitting and now they are in the windowsill for two weeks, growing strong sprouts.
Over 1 million children grow their own potatoes thanks to this scheme! We had three Vales Emerald and three Rocket potatoes to grow. I also had a weather chart to map out the weather. So far we’ve had 6 sunny days and 1 cloudy.
I’ve been clearing my patch in the garden ready for planting out in two weeks time and I’ve got some wildflower seeds for the bees and butterflies.

Good luck with your potatoes this year - hope your crop is as good as last year
We have wild flower seeds as well, so we can compare butterflies later on!
