……to braid a seven year old girl’s hair?
Today Daddy’s best friend came to visit. He bought me two very special presents. The first was a hair braider with all sorts of lovely coloured beads to put in my braids.
The other present was a gorgeous set of 50 crayons. I was so pleased with them and even Mummy was a bit envious. There is every colour in the rainbow in the set and I’m going to have so much fun using them to do my drawings and cards.
Today I went out with Grandma for the day and for my swimming lesson. I made a card for my teacher because it was the last time I shall see him. He is leaving the Leisure Centre to be a Policeman. Mummy saw the card this morning and it made her cry! She thought I would draw a picture of me and my teacher swimming in the water. Instead I drew a picture of me sitting under a tree with a sad face. I drew this because I’m going to miss him and Mummy thought I was very special and loving to be missing somebody and draw them such a lovely picture.
I shall miss him, but Mummy tells me that I can remember him for the rest of my life as the person who taught me to swim. I felt better hearing that.

Hi Verona
Was it hard to brush the braids out?
Good to see you the other day.
I have fixed my keys to the key ring you gave me.
See you soon
Love
Mark
It wasn’t that difficult to brush the braids out the other day because every day I always brush my hair, other wise Mummy calls me ‘Ronnie locks’ (which I really hate!)
Hope to see you again soon…
