Mummy joined the potato council’s potatoes for schools scheme and today I planted my potatoes!
We had 2 rocket potatoes and 2 vale emerald potatoes to try.
This is how to plant potatoes.
1- Dig the soil in a sunny spot:
2- Pull out all the weeds:
3- Dig a hole for each potato, about 12 inches apart from each other and put one potato in each hole with their sprouts pointing upwards:
4- Cover with soil to make the potatoes warm and cosy and whisper secret words to them to make them grow:
5- Water:
I’m growing some other things too. I was allowed to choose my own seeds and I’ve chosen six things:
peas
radishes
baby sweetcorn
mint
cucumber
cress
I’ll be planting those over the next two weeks. Please tell me if you are growing anything this year!

Hello Verona. My, you have been busy!
The last time you were at our house you made us a seed pot out of a toilet roll middle, remember? It has now been put to good use and has a pip from a Royal Gala apple planted in it. Watch this space.
I hope all your plants develop beautifully. It looks from your pictures as if you had a wonderful time working in the garden.
Dear Grandma,
Thank for the comment - I really liked it. I am glad the cardboard pot has come in useful and I hope your apple pip grows.
See you soon,
Verona
wow Verona, wonderful photos.
Good luck with the potato growing, we’re doing those too.

Hello Denise,
Do you have rocket and emerald vale like we do? I think I’m going to get most from the rocket ones!
But I expect the emerald vale will be more tasty!
Good luck with yours too
