Yesterday we began some more planting for this year. Mummy dug through the beds, getting all the weed roots out for the third time. And sometimes getting out an enormous clump of soil with about ten roots sticking out of it.
I put soil through a sieve to make it fine for planting our vegetables and herbs. It took me a long time because I did loads of it and I’m probably going to do some more today.
We planted some parsley and basil in pots and Mummy began her beetroot and I began my radishes. Mummy also planted courgettes and kale ready for planting out.

What a lovely sounding day, have been planting potatoes and starting work on our new allotment today. It is nice to be out in the sun, fingers crosed for a nice growing season.
See you tomorrow, Poppy
Hi Poppy!
what type of potatoes are you growing? Our favourite is Charlottes
I’ve still got cress, baby sweetcorn, mint, cucumber and peas to plant. How much more do you have to plant?
See you later,
Verona x
Hello Tracy - I’m glad you like my blog. You must be very busy telling people all about potatoes. Can you send me the address if you set up a site for your boys? How old are they?
My potatoes have been earthed up twice now, but they keep poking out the top! I will look on your website for recipes, but I love new potatoes just boiled with some butter on them.
What is your favourite potatoe recipe?
